I’d love to see a full blown resurgence of bands like The Fragile States. The Lo-Fi 90’s fuzz that has a stoner rock sort of feel to it is so different now. There is a great carefree feeling behind the lyrics and vocals that is infectious and makes you slip into a dreamy haze.
To put into perspective, imagine The Breeders, a bit of The Charlatans and Cardigans and chill out that mix and you’d kind of be close.
The band consists of veterans of the original influx of 90s bands so it’s unsurprising (and appreciated) that they would keep that pure authentic vibe. Consisting of Dido Hallett, Donald Ross Skinner from the Rough Trade band Tiger and Dan Cross from Fire Records band The Perfect Disaster, if they don’t make waves with their upcoming EP then I’d be absolutely mortified.
